Ruth Eloise Morgan, a 95-year-old resident of Chillicothe, passed away at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe on Wednesday, March 5, 2003.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Alpha Cemetery in Laredo.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today (Friday, March 7, 2003) and from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Hermitage on July 17, 1907, the daughter of John Robert and Lydia Ratliff Selby. In 1924 she married John Franklin Engleman in Grundy County. He preceded her in death in 1958. In 1966 she married Rufus Morgan in Kansas City. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a 1924 graduate of Laredo High School. She was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church in Laredo. She was the owner of the Alpha Grocery from 1946 to 1958. She lived in the Laredo and Alpha area most of her life until moving to Chillicothe in 1994.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by two sons, Franklin Engleman of Galt and Selby Engleman of Meadville; one daughter, Mary Sims of Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; an infant sister; and two grandchildren.
