Max Dean Cooper, a 72-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Homes in Trenton, passed away at 4:26 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Resthaven Mortuary. Bro. Danny Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Half Rock Cemetery.
General visitation will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2003.
Mr. Cooper was born on July 25, 1930 in Mercer County, the son of Waldon E. and Wilma Higgons Cooper. He attended the Lyons school by Half Rock. In 1952 he joined the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1960. He worked on assembly line for the General Motors Corporation from 1954 until he retired in 1985. On Feb. 14, 1987, he was united in marriage to Natalie Edrington at Princeton. After their marriage, they lived in the Princetron area. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1995. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Princeton VFW Post #7159. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved traveling across the country on the Moto-Guzzi motorcycle that he made.
Mr. Cooper is survived by one sister, Darletta Drennan and her husband, John, of Princeton; one step-son, Donald Williams of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Rob Chipps of Walnut Grove and John Chipps of Princeton; two great-nephews, Wade and Jeremia; and five great-nieces, Michelle, Amber, Britney, Brandy and Tabatha.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents; and two half sisters, Betty Jo and Barbara Sue Dean.
