Dwayne R. Martin, a 66-year-old resident of Kansas City, passed away early today (Friday morning, March 7, 2003) at the North Kansas City Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past four days.

Dwayne R. Martin, a 66-year-old resident of Kansas City, passed away early today (Friday morning, March 7, 2003) at the North Kansas City Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past four days.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the South Evans Cemetery located east of Tindall. Bro. Danny Moore will officiate.

General visitation will begin after 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. There is no scheduled family visitation.

Mr. Martin was born on Dec. 10, 1936 in Independence, the son of Carl G. and Hazel G. Betts Martin. He lived in Independence until 1945 when his parents moved to VanBuren, AR. He lived there until 1948, when they went to Mississippi and stayed until the fall of that year. He then lived at Adrian until his graduation from Adrian High School in 1954. He then moved to Kansas City, where he worked for Hallmark Cards until 1964. He was married to Carol Ann Hein on July 21, 1963 at the South Evans Christian Church. He then worked for Rothenberg & Schloss Cigar Co., General Auto Parts, Coast to Coast Store and Star Expansion Co. He also was the owner of Family Hair Styling in Claycomo for six years.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Martin of the home in Kansas City; one daughter, Laura J. McReaken of Liberty; one granddaughter, Lacee M. McReaken; and one grandson, Lucas K. McReaken; one niece; and one nephew.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents and one half sister, Dorathy R. Said.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the South Evans Christian Church.
