The Jamesport City Council held a special meeting Tuesday, rejecting bids for the renovation of public restrooms at City Hall.
According to information provided by City Clerk Carol Cass, the council met to discuss the bids, which had been accepted at the last meeting. It was noted that the stall partitions had been overlooked from the accepted bids and by the council when reviewing bids, making it faulty bid. A motion was then passed to reject the bids for the restrooms.
Leona Waterbury made a motion to scale down the size of the restrooms, but that motion failed to receive a second. Virginia Hopkins then made a motion to re-advertise for sealed bids for the renovation of the restrooms, with the motion passing and Ms. Waterbury voting no. Anyone interested in making a bid may pick up bid plans at City Hall from 9 to 5 p.m., beginning today. Bids will be accepted until 5 p.m., March 5.
