It?s taking a lot of work to put this weekend?s production of ?The Music Man Junior? together.
In addition to the 69 students who will make up the cast, there are 35-plus high school students and adults who are filling not only roles in the play but handling backstage duties as well.
THS students Andy Hahn, Kasey Bailey, Eric Lorenz, Zane Robinson, Aiden Stevenson, Kenton Kinney, Jason Meek and Scott Sharp are cast as part of the ?singing salesmen? who open the program and tell the story of Professor Harold Hill. All four are members of the various choirs within the THS Vocal Music Department and have had extensive music experience.
Sherry Whitt, TMS music director, is serving as musical director for the play. Michelle Grisamore has been the producer, with Tom Powell working as director, assisted by his daughter, Catie, who also serves as Mrs. Whitt?s cadet teacher. Megan Allbaugh, THS music instructor, has been assisting Mrs. Whitt with the music.
Wes Hahn has been responsible for the sets and lighting while Denise Bruner and Melinda Wilson have headed up the props search. Pam Infranca has served as choreographer, Dorothy Allnutt and Buddy Hannaford are in charge of publicity and ticket sales and Jan Sallee is in charge of makeup.
Many of the costumes for the production came from the Trenton Acting Guild wardrobe, although four costumes had to be ordered because of their special requirements. Several teachers and parents have also been involved, assisting with costumes, makeup and keeping the students in check while they are waiting to take the stage.
?It?s taken a lot of work by a lot of people, but I think everyone will think it was worth it when they see the production,? Mrs. Grisamore said.
