Rachel Pollard of Princeton and Colton Miller of Mercer were named the top two winners in the Mercer County Spelling Bee, held this morning at the Mercer School.

Rachel Pollard of Princeton and Colton Miller of Mercer were named the top two winners in the Mercer County Spelling Bee, held this morning at the Mercer School.

Miss Pollard correctly spelled the word ?oblique? to take top honors. She and Miller will advance to the regional spelling bee, which will take place March 15 in St. Joseph.

Named as alternate to Miss Pollard was Ally Eastin of Mercer. Austin Hague of Mercer is the alternate for Miller. A total of 16 spellers from the Princeton and Mercer schools took part in the competition.
