Monte Ora McClain, a 94-year-old resident of Lineville, IA passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, IA.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at the Clio Cemetery. Rev. Max Carmichael will officiate under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Lineville, IA.
Open visitation and viewing will be held from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. McClain was born north of Clio, IA on March 1, 1908, the son of Edward and Gussie O’hara McClain. He was united in marriage to Erma Fern Elson on March 4, 1936. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1993. He lived all his life in Clio and Lineville. He and his wife farmed for many years on their farm north of Lineville and in 1971 moved from the farm to Lineville.
Mr. McClain is survived by one niece, Phyllis Carson of Lineville, IA and several grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Gladys Bryan.
