Norma F. Gladfelder, a 75-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center died today, (Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003) in Trenton.

Norma F. Gladfelder, a 75-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center died today, (Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003) in Trenton.

The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Pastor Gary Ponder Williams will officiate. Inurnment will take placed in the Early Cemetery in Mercer at a later date.

Open visitation will begin at 8 a.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Miss Gladfelder was born in Wayne County, IA, near Allerton, on July 6, 1927, the daughter of William Lloyd and Vina L. Ellis Gladfelder. She was raised in Mercer and graduated from Mercer High School. Most of her adult life was spent in the Kansas City area, where she worked for the U.S. Quartermaster Service during World War II and for the American Can Company of Kansas City as a quality control inspector. Following her retirement, she lived in Chillicothe before moving to Trenton in 1983. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting and was an excellent marksman and dearly loved her dog, Tinker.

She is survived by one nephew, Frank L. Gladfelder and his wife, Naioma, of Trenton; two nieces, Sherrie L. Gladfelder-Hill of Wichita, KS, and Suzy Holtman-McLean of Branson; seven grand-nieces and nephews, Madison, Ashley and Matthew Gladfelder, Chandra Hill, Angelica Hindes, Mark Wedlock Jr., and Rachel McLean; a great-grandnephew, Quinton Hindes; and a great-grandniece, Alyssa Wedlock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Willis L. and Jerrie Gladfelder; and one sister, Wilmalee Gladfelder.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Ms. Gladfelder?s name to a charity of the contributor?s choice.
