A burning ban has been put into effect in Grundy County until further notice.
Fire chiefs from Trenton, Galt, Laredo, Spickard and the Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District have issued the ban due to a lack of moisture, windy conditions and dryness of grass. The ban includes all areas of Grundy County, including the city of Trenton. Fire officials said that violators will be subject to prosecution to the fullest extend of the law under Statute 321.20 of the Missouri State Code.
