Phyliss Hobbs, a 76-year-old resident of 1905 Lincoln St. in Trenton, passed away around noon on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003 at the North Kansas City Hospital, where she had been a patient since Jan. 1.

Phyliss Hobbs, a 76-year-old resident of 1905 Lincoln St. in Trenton, passed away around noon on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003 at the North Kansas City Hospital, where she had been a patient since Jan. 1.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at the Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. Pastor Mike Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton.

Mrs. Hobbs was born on May 8, 1926 at Kansas City, the daughter of Dorothy Webster. She moved to Trenton when she was nine years old and graduated from Trenton High School. She was married to R.T. Hobbs on Feb. 23, 1944 at Atchinson, KS. They had lived most of their married lives in Trenton. Mrs. Hobbs attended the Americana Beauty School in Des Moines, IA and later became an intructor at the school. For several years she was a beauty operator at the Jones Department Store in the Kansas City area. She was a Baptist and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Hobbs is survived by her husband, R.T. Hobbs of the home in Trenton; two daughters, Cheryl Ryckert of Paola, KS and Carol, now Mrs. Gene Powers, of Gove, KS; one sister, Barbara Skinner of St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Kerry Powers, Karisa Truetken, Cheri Ryckert and Micca Cole; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Truetken and Lakin Cole.

Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Gary Webster; and one grandson, Bobby Lee Ryckert.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
