Six individuals have been named as judges for this weekend?s Miss Trenton and Miss Green Hills area scholarship pageants.
An attorney, retired banker, mortician, retired school teacher and two pageant veterans make up the 2003 local panel.
Bonnie Hall of Macon and Nancy Tate of Gallatin will represent the area as judges for the Miss America preliminary. Mrs. Hall is a retired bank executive and vice president of marketing with US Bank in Macon. Mrs. Tate is a retired elementary school teacher and both women bring a tremendous amount of community involvement to the panel.
Todd Yager is a mortician in the mid-Missouri community of Mexico and will represent the Miss Missouri Board of Directors as the assigned state judge. Mrs. Kay Lea of Lexington is a regional field director for the Miss Missouri Pageant and a long-time volunteer with the pageant system. In addition, she is the mother of Nichole Lea, a former Miss Trenton and a top five finalist at last year?s Miss Missouri competition.
Jason Greco of Kansas City is a former Mr. Illinois and is now a pageant volunteer in both the USA and Miss America programs as well as a vocalist in the Kansas City area. Matt Krohn will represent Trenton on the panel as the designated local novice judge. He is an attorney with the firm of Andereck, Evans, Milne, Peace and Johnson.
The judges will be meeting with the 16 contestants on Saturday afternoon in 10-minute interviews and will evaluate each of the young women in the evening gown, talent and swimsuit preliminaries on Saturday night before selecting two individuals to advance to this summer?s Miss Missouri Pageant in Mexico.
Contestants for the first-ever title of Miss Green Hills include Cailin Dixon of Cainsville, Marcie McCauslin of Chillicothe, Lauren Burton of Chillicothe, Holly Main of Bucklin and Amy Gash of Meadville.
Miss Trenton title contenders include Tracee Stout of Holt, Jessica Shanklin of Lawson, Bobby Bagby of Liberty, Susan Campbell of Gladstone, Lisa Mettlin of Raytown, Amber Etheridge of St. Louis, Jamie Fischer of Lake Ozark, Amber Wendel of Kearney, Rachel Espey of Maryville, Regina Laughlin of Linn and Stacey Jasper of Nelson.
Saturday night?s pageant begins at 7 o?clock at the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets remain on sale through Friday afternoon at the Trenton Republican-Times newspaper office. Tickets will also be available at the KCC on Saturday night. Tickets are $5, $8 and $10.
