Helen Virginia Neet Alexander, an 87-year-old resident of Security, CO, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003 at Cappadonna Funeral Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mrs. Alexander was born in a farm home in Sullivan County on Sept. 8, 1915. She was a teacher of primary grades and began her teaching career at age 18 in a one room school in Missouri. She taught in Frisco, Breckenridge, Dillon and Rifle, CO from 1954 until her retirement in 1976. She was a resident of Security, CO from 1976 until her death.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by one son, Ron Alexander of Frisco, CO; three daughters, Sonja Power of Cottonwood, AZ, Janet McLaughlin of Canon City, CO and Anita Valaer of Security, CO; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty O’Neill of Rapid City, SD; and one brother, Donald Neet of Greeley, CO.
Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack Alexander, and her grandson, Terry Valaer.
