Trenton Township tax collections are running ahead considerably in 2002 compared to figures from a year ago, according to information provided by Township Collector Beth Kennedy.
As of today, $1,281,492.47 in real estate and personal property taxes have been collected, compared to $1,057,589.17 a year ago. A total of $3,062,535.56 in township taxes is payable for 2002.
Real estate taxes collected thus far are at $829,637.34, compared to $694,958.84 a year ago. Personal property tax collections are at $451,855.13, compared to $362,630.33 in 2001.
Township taxes, which include the city of Trenton taxes as well, can be paid at the township office on Normal Street on Monday through Friday until Dec. 31. The township office will close at noon on Dec. 24, but will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.
