Bonita Babs Kelly, an 83-year-old lifelong Trenton resident, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Bonita Babs Kelly, an 83-year-old lifelong Trenton resident, passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Pastor Mike Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
A scheduled family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on (Monday, Dec. 16, 2002) at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kelly was born on Oct. 5, 1919 in Tindall, the daughter of Evertt and Bertha Ricketts Bonta. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1937. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. She attended the Platt-Guard Business College at St. Joseph. She was married to James P. Kelly on Aug. 16, 1963 in Trenton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1972. She worked for the Tom Layson law office for several years.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by one brother, Ivan Bonta of West Des Moines, IA; one sister, Jeulia Nalisnik of Tustin, CA; one nephew, Stan Bonta of Des Moines, IA; three nieces, Celie McCord of Nevada, Tanya Kappas of Los Angeles, CA and Rhonda Silva of Santa Ana, CA; five great-nieces and nephews; and four step-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents; one step-daughter, Linda Hryniewicz; and one niece, Jamie Bonta.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the South Evans Cemetery Association.
