The Pleasant View R-6 School will present its annual Christmas program, ?Santa and the Three Scrooges,? at 7:30 p.m., Friday at the school.

The musical, under the direction of Shani Kinney, is for everyone who is young at heart – but is especially dedicated to senior citizens.

When the play begins, the family and fortune of Ebenezer Scrooge have prospered through the years, with Annie, Mannie and Moe Scrooge running a huge real estate firm, ?Scrooge, Scrooge and Scrooge,? which has just acquired property known as the North Pole.

When these comical skinflint rascals learn that Santa ?gives away toys to girls and boys, and never makes any money, they decide that Santa is old and useless and must be fire and retired, given a gold watch. They even want to close down the North Pole toyshop. Santa, however, may be old and down – but he?s not out! He and Mrs. Claus open a ?School for Santa Clauses? so his celebration of Christmas can be carried on. All kinds of children enroll- short, tall, big small – and they learn how to ?Ho!Ho!Ho!,? how to ?Jingle, Jingle, Jingle,? how to fly with the reindeer, zip down the chimney, etc. Secretly, they make dolls and teddy bears, bathtub boats and little trains – and everything is ready for them to take over on Christmas Eve – when Alas! They all get the chicken pox!

It?s all up to Santa now. Because he?s old is he really useless? Can he still make his fantastic voyage to all the children of the world?

Students from preschool through eighth grade will participate in the program, as well as the band.In the final song of the night, ?Be Kind To Each Other,? the children will use sign language.

The play will be held in the school gym and is free and open to the public.
