A 19-year-old Central Missouri State University student from Lake Ozark is the most recently announced contestant in the Miss Trenton Area Scholarship Pageant.
Jamie Rae Fischer is a sophomore marketing major with a minor in Spanish. She hopes to graduate with honors and explore the possibilities of graduate school. She eventually wants to excel in the business world and enjoy a career of which she can be proud.
A graduate of the School of the Osage High School, Miss Fischer was co-valedictorian of her class, was secretary of the National Honor Society, was chosen to ?Who?s Who Among American High School Students? and was recognized for excellence in Spanish. She participated in choir, was editor of the school newspaper and received an academic letter during all four years of high school. She was also named a Bright Flight Scholar.
On the Warrensburg campus, Miss Fischer has been named to the dean?s list, is a member of the CMSU Honor?s College and is vice president of the college Equestrian Club.
Miss Fischer has studied private piano for 10 years, has over four years of ballet and tap dance study and plays the French horn. In addition, she has studied martial arts extensively and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She has been an active member of 4-H and loves to travel.
Miss Fischer was a participant in the 2002 Miss Trenton Pageant and was recently named first runner-up in the Miller County Fair Pageant. She will perform a classical piano piece in the upcoming pageant and has selected fine arts funding for school and communities as her pageant platform.
The 32nd annual Miss Trenton Area Scholarship Pageant and the first-ever Miss Green Hills Area Scholarship Pageant will be held Jan. 4 in the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus. Tickets for the 7 p.m. performance are on sale at the Trenton Republican-Times newspaper office.
