A 19-year-old Westminster college freshman from Chillicothe is the latest announced contestant for the upcoming Miss Trenton and Miss Green Hills Area pageants.
Marcie McCauslin is majoring in business and finance, with a minor in pre-law and psychology. She hopes to complete a master?s degree in business, then graduate from law school with long-range plans of becoming an estate lawyer.
A student of dance for over 12 years, Miss McCauslin is a member of the Westminster Dance Team on the Fulton campus. A graduate of Chillicothe High School, she was president of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 5 percent of her class. She was a drum major for the marching band, a member of the high school dance team and has studied both instrumental and vocal music. A former 4-H club member and youth leader, she is also a second generation Miss Trenton contestant.
Miss McCauslin attended Missouri Girls State and Sophomore Pilgrimage as well as represented the area in last summer?s Missouri State Fair Queen Contest.
Focusing on literacy among small children is the pageant platform of Miss McCauslin. She will perform a lyrical dance during the talent competition.
The 2003 Miss Trenton and Miss Green Hills Area scholarship pageants will be held Jan. 4 in the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus. Tickets for the 32nd annual Miss Missouri/Miss America preliminary go on sale this Saturday at the Republican-Times newspaper office, beginning at 9 a.m.
