Frances Louise Trainer, a 92-year-old resident of Conroe, TX, formerly of Bethany, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at a nursing home in Conroe.

Frances Louise Trainer, a 92-year-old resident of Conroe, TX, formerly of Bethany, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at a nursing home in Conroe.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002 at Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial will be in the Miriam Cemetery in Bethany. The body has been cremated.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, where friends may call after 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Mrs. Trainer was born in Watonga, OR on Feb. 22, 1910. Her family moved to Mercer County in 1914. She graduated from Spickard High School and later studied pharmacy under B.G. Dennis in Spickard. In April 1956, she began working as a secretary for the Harrison County Farm Bureau. During that time, she helped obtain over 60 scholarships for students to attend “Freedom Forum.” She retired from the Farm Bureau after 20 years of service and was given a lifetime membership in the bureau. In the early 1950’s she helped organize the Bethany Girl Scouts into the Midland Empire and was a troop leader. She faithfully served as a member of the United Methodist Church of Bethany for 55 years. She was a past president of the Bethany Business Women’s Club, past worthy matron of Bethany Chapter #23 of Order of Eastern Star, past Regent of Elizabetha Harrison Chapter of DAR and a member of the 20th Century Club and Methodist Women.

Mrs. Trainer is survived by one daughter, Brenda Preheim and her husband, Randy, of Conroe; two granddaughters, Lynley McDonald and her husband, Jimmy, of Spring, TX and Lesley Groves and her husband, Terry, of West Chester, OH; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Blake and Laura McDonald and Ryan Groves.

Mrs. Trainer was preceded in death by her husband, C.R. Trainer.
