Audrey Sanders, an 89-year-old resident of Mercer, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Rev. Max Carmichael and Rev. Leroy Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.
Open visitation and viewing is in progress at the funeral home, where the family visition will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening (Friday, Nov. 29, 2002).
Mrs. Sanders was born in Decatur County, IA on May 11, 1913, the daughter of Fletcher Grant and Winnie Bracewell Grove. She was raised in the Mercer area and was a 1933 graduate of Mercer High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Evers Sanders, Sr. on Feb. 2, 1935. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2002. She and her husband, farmed together in Wayne County, IA and Mercer County.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by three sons, Delbert D. Sanders and his wife, Kathy, of Kansas City, Gilbert W. Sanders and his wife, Coreena, of Mercer and Robert E. Sanders, Jr. and his wife Jean, of Lineville, IA; one sister, Eula Duffield of Princeton; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vera Grove and Doris Harp; and four brothers, Lyle, Donald, Duane and Marvin Edwin Grove.
