A Trenton woman and former student at Trenton Junior College has been named a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award by the Missouri Community College Association.

Phyllis Dible is one of four honorees for statewide recognition and was nominated for the award by the administration of North Central Missouri College.

A graduate of Trenton High School, Mrs. Dible attended Trenton Junior College before transferring to Northwest Missouri State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education. Following graduation from college, Mrs. Dible taught in the public school system. She later continued studies at Webster University, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville. In addition, Mrs. Dible was employed as an adjunct lecturer for the University of Missouri system.

The founder of PDQ Cleaning Systems, Inc. in 1993, Mrs. Dible has seen her company grow from a lean staff of only herself to over 25 employees serving north Missouri, southern Iowa and eastern Kansas.

Mrs. Dible has been extensively involved in the Welfare Reform Self-Sufficiency efforts serving in leadership roles on the county, regional, state and national levels. She has provided guidance in elected capacities of the Grundy County Friends and Families of the Developmentally Disabled, the Missouri Statewide Independent Living Council, the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce, Hodge Presbyterian Church and both the local PEO Chapter and the American Association of University Women.

A strong supporter of NCMC, Mrs. Dible has volunteered in numerous capacities ranging from classroom speaker and advisory board member to career placement committee and fund raising responsibilities.

Mrs. Dible was presented the award at the recent meeting of the Missouri Community College Association by Association President Kevin White and NCMC President Dr. Walter Nolte.
