Raymond George Summers, a 73-year-old resident of Holden, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at the Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg.

Raymond George Summers, a 73-year-old resident of Holden, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at the Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002 at the Princeton Baptist Church. Brother Guy Olin Thomas officiated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton. Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery.

Mr. Summers was born on March 7, 1929, the son of Marion Emmitt and Thelma Lee LaFever Summers. He was married to Norma Elaine Minshall on Dec. 31, 1950. She survives of the home in Holden. He was a graduate of Princeton High School in 1947. He had lived and farmed all his life in Mercer County until moving to Holden in 1993. He loved restoring old tractors, camping, fishing, showing livestock and pulling tractors. He was a member of the Princeton Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Summers is survived by four sons, Donald Ray Summers and his wife, Patricia, of Lee’s Summit, Terry Allen Summers and his wife, Pam, of Sibley, Craig Summers and his wife, Claudia, of Pleasant Hill and James Bradley Summers and his wife, Susie, of Holden; one daughter, Robbin Ratcliff and her husband, Brian, of Easton, KS; one sister, Lee Lane and her husband, Jim, of Unionville; one brother-in-law, Jim German of Eldorado Springs; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Summers was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Phyllis German.
