Lea Boyd Clark, a 93-year-old resident of Princeton, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 at the Princeton United Methodist Church. Rev. Gary Ponder Williams will officiate under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton. Burial will be in the Princeton Cemetery.

Open visitation and viewing is in progress at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock this evening (Monday, Nov. 25, 2002).

Mrs. Clark was born on Nov. 5, 1909 near Princeton, the daughter of Fred Eugene and Ethel Lea Berry Boyd. She was united in marriage to Robert R. Clark on Oct. 15, 1932. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1979. She was a 1927 graduate of Princeton High School and attended the Chillicothe Business College. She had lived in Kansas City, Pittsburgh, PA, Chicago, IL and in the state of Colorado for 20 years before moving back to Princeton in 1952, where she served as Mercer County Circuit Clerk and Recorder for 20 years. She also served on the board of directors of the Princeton Cemetery and the Pine Cemetery associations; and was a member of the Mercer County Historical Society, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, and the Princeton United Methodist Church, where she served on the administrative board.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her brother, James W. Boyd and his wife, Helen, of Princeton; one nephew, John Bryan and his wife, Linda, of Louisburg, KS; one niece, Mary Louise Bryan of Stanley, KS; and many great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clark was preceded in by her parents and one sister, Margaret Bryan.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Princeton United Methodist Church. These may be mailed to the church at 804 E. Main, Princeton, MO 64673.
