Sharon Norine Miller, a 65-year-old resident of Springfield, passed away following a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Springfield.

Sharon Norine Miller, a 65-year-old resident of Springfield, passed away following a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2002 a the Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. Interment will be held in the new Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield.

Mrs. Miller was born in Trenton on Dec. 28, 1936, the daughter of Frank H. Kirkman and Althea Lee Kirkman. She graduated from Trenton High School and attended Trenton Junior College and Northwest Missouri State University. In 1959, she married George E. “Ed” Miller. She was active in her church, serving in the bus ministry and working with Acteens in the First Baptist Church in Trenton. She was a teacher at a Christian school in Trenton. She worked for many years as a dental receptionist. She most recently attended church at Nixa Assembly of God.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, George E. “Ed”, of the home; two sons, Michael Miller and his wife, Cheryl, of Auburn, AL and Scott Miller and his wife, Marsha of Springfield; three grandchildren, Sean, Megan and Kayla of Auburn, AL; one step-granddaughter, Debbie, of Springfield; her mother, Althea Kirkman of Springfield; her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gomer Caselman of Springfield; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her father, Frank Kirkman and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
