The Tri-County Board of Education met Thursday night, setting the filing period for board elections and approving the senior class trip.
According to information provided by Superintendent Ron Garber, persons wanting to file for a spot on the board of education may do so from Jan. 2 to Jan. 21. The filing times will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of Martin Luther King Jr.?s birthday. The three-year terms of Roger Savage and Tad Lisle as well as the one-year unexpired term of Tyann Wells will be filled in the April election.
The board agreed to allow the senior class to take its class trip to Florida. The board agreed to have Steve Prindle coach the fifth and sixth grade girls and boys basketball teams while Jim Cranmer will serve as a substitute bus driver. Also approved was the annual performance report for the district.
The board voted to continue membership in the Missouri School Board Association and will also participate in the alternative certification program with Northwest Missouri State University. The district will be participating in the early childhood special education cooperative with Pleasant View R-6 School as the fiscal and transportation agent.
The next meeting of the board is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9.
