Mary Ann Ramsey, a 70-year-old resident of Mercer, died on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002 at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. The Rev. Ron Helton will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lineville.

An open visitation will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at the funeral home, where a family visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Ramsey was born in Blockton, IA on Dec. 7, 1931, the daughter of John Cecil and Alta Mary Jones Crecelius. She was raised in Lineville and graduated from Lineville High School. She had worked at Alley’s Cash Market grocery in Mercer, later purchasing it and changing the name to Mary’s Cash Market, which she operated for five years.

On Nov. 1, 1950, she was married to Kenneth Lee Ramsey. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1997.

She is survived by three daughters, Lee Ann Moore and her husband, Clell, of Allerton, IA, Lisa Ramsey Hart of Kansas City and Linda Hague and her husband, Jackie, of Mercer; one son, Kevin Ramsey of Lacona, IA; six grandchildren, Blair Moore and his wife, Dolly, or Indianola, IA, Crystal Moore of Jefferson City, Cheri Moore of Allerton and Sarah, Levi and Austin Hague of Mercer; one great-grandchildren, Megan Jo Moore of Indianola; one sister, Velda DeCavelle of Kansas City; one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Council and her husband, Mike, of Chillicothe; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Burl, Dean and Lloyd Crecelius.
