The Missouri Housing Development Commission will hold public hearings this month to discuss affordable housing development proposals submitted by developers for 2003 funding.

Among the projects proposed are three in Trenton, proposed by the Green Hills Community Development Corporation. One of the projects includes a 20-unit expansion of the Trenton Apartments located at 1700 E. 30th St. Another proposal includes the total rehabilitation of a house at 911 E. Ninth Ct., which would then be available for rent. The third proposal includes the construction of single-family homes at the intersection of 13th and Normal streets and the intersection of 6th and Linn streets. These homes would be similar to houses recently constructed by the organization and now rented to families who meet income guidelines.

The hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza located at 4445 Main St., in Kansas City. During the hearing, MHDC staff will describe the developments under consideration, field inquiries regarding the developments and accept and record public comments. Any interested party may attend the hearing to submit verbal or written comments and/or submit written comments to the MHDC, 3435 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111 .
