Members of the Trenton R-9 Board of Education met Tuesday and Wednesday nights to conduct interviews of potential candidates to replace retiring R-9 Superintendent Harry Wheeler.
R-9 Board President Dr. John Holcomb said three individuals were interviewed on Tuesday and three met with the board on Wednesday. He noted that this would be the first round of interviews and that finalists from the six will be brought back for a second interview.
Board members have expressed a desire to have a replacement for Wheeler in place before the end of the school year. Wheeler plans to retire at the end of his contract, which expires on June 30.
