The Spickard R-2 Board of Education met Wednesday night, rescheduling a ballgame and two board meetings and voting to construct a small basketball court during its meeting.

According to Principal Ruth Ann Shipps, the board agreed to change the Oct. 29 basketball game with Pleasant View R-6 School to Oct. 30 at Spickard. Due to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the November meeting was moved to Nov. 20 and the December meeting will be held Dec. 18.

In other business, the board agreed to see if a bid submitted last year for a chimney liner is still good and agreed to pour a cement basketball court on the playground, with the board doing the work itself. The gifted program was approved and a technology contract was tabled until the actual contract is received. The south bank of the school yard was also discussed, with the possibility of constructing a retaining wall mentioned.

An executive session was held to discuss personnel and a student matter, with no announcement made.
