NCMC Library Offers New Online Service
North Central Missouri College has announced that it has added new online capabilities’ for the college library.
In partnership with the Missouri Online Biographic Information Users System, NCMC is now a member of a 50-library system throughout the state of Missouri.
As a result of such inclusion in the program, NCMC students, faculty and staff can borrow books online from any academic library in Missouri without the paperwork or delay. College librarian Ann Sampson said she is ?thrilled? about the options now available to both the college and the community.
?The advantages of the MOBIUS consortium are tremendous for NCMC,? Mrs. Sampson said. ?No longer are persons constrained by the limits of the local collections. Now students and faculty can call upon the millions of volumes available in academic libraries throughout the state.?
As a member of the MOBIUS effort, NCMC joins Missouri Western State College, Northwest Missouri State University and Conception Abbey in a regional cluster.
?Eleven different academic clusters comprise the MOBIUS consortium of libraries and plans for expansion will occur as early as 2003,? Mrs. Sampson said. ?This is a win-win opportunity for both our college family and the entire community, and the capabilities will only get better in the months ahead.?
