Several activities are planned at the the Grundy County Museum during this weekend?s Missouri Day Festival.

Doris Kennedy, chairman of the Baker Rural School, has invited former teachers and students to bring pictures and other items used in the 93 rural schools that have existed in Grundy County over the years. A former teacher, Emma Turner Gardner, will be present at the school from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday to lead the discussion about the new exhibit. Board members John Rice and Daryl Browning have assisted in mounting the displays.

Charles Ellis of Ames, IA, will show his Jesse James Gang memorabilia on the lower level of the museum. Ellis will share his eyewitness account of the disinternment of James? body and the subsequent reburial in 1995.

A videotape featuring an overall view of the museum exhibit was broadcast recently as part of the ?Hometown Traveler? series on KQTV-TV, St. Joseph, and will be shown at the museum during various intervals each day. The tape offers narration by board member Juanita Denslow and Republican-Times editor Diane Raynes.

Museum hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
