Deloris Mae Sawyer Murphy passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at the Madera, CA Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for about three weeks. The body was cremated.

Deloris Mae Sawyer Murphy passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at the Madera, CA Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for about three weeks. The body was cremated.

Mrs. Murphy was born on Aug. 1, 1932, the daughter of Arthur “Bud” and Myrl Esta Meek Sawyer. She attended schools at Brimson and Gilman City. She was married to Carl Murphy on July 24, 1949. He survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Murphy is survived by two daughters, Jenny, and her husband, Chris Bartley, and Jeanny and her husband, Mark Hamonds; and six granddaughters, all of Madera; two sisters, Helen Pellman of Des Moines, IA and Delaina Purdy of Independence; two brothers, Eldon Sawyer of San Dimas, CA and Leon Sawyer of Independence; and several cousins around the Trenton area.

Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Evah Louise and Neva Rose; and one brother, Noah Ray.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willis Chapel Cemetery, north of Brimson.
