Jerry Engleman, representing Trenton AMS LLC, was the successful bidder for the former Adams Middle School building, which sold at public auction on Monday.

Engleman outbid Lawson resident Jim Parker for the building, purchasing it for $62,000. The bidding for the property started at $50,000.

Once the bidding was completed, members of the Trenton R-9 Board of Education held a brief executive session to discuss the bid, then came out and announced it had voted to accept Engleman’s offer. A crowd of around 30 persons looked on as the bidding proceeded. Director of Supportive Services Ron Hurst conducted the auction.

Engleman indicated that Trenton AMS LLC planned to move ahead with a proposal it had made to the Trenton R-9 Board of Education in its first efforts to purchase the property. The group plans to renovate the facility, offering office and retail space for rent a well as having the former auditorium available for public events. Other entertainment venues are also being considered as well.

In addition to Engleman, others involved in the group include Engelman’s wife, Marlene; Dr. Hasem Borhani, Dr. and Mrs. J.A. Keuhn and Dr. and Mrs. Phil McClure.
