John D. “J.D.” Quigley, an 86-year-old resident of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City.

John D. “J.D.” Quigley, an 86-year-old resident of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002 at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Locust Valley Cemetery in Browning.
There will be a family visitation from 11 a.m. to noon prior to service at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 4, 2002).
Mr. Quigley was born on Jan. 4, 1916 in Sullivan County, the son of John Peter and Lucretia Jennings Quigley. On Nov. 16, 1940, he married Waverly “Jean” Bauswell at Yuma, AZ. She survives of the home. Mr. Quigley was a 1933 graduate of Browning High School. He lived several years in Browning, where he was a farmer until 1980, when he moved to Brookfield. In February 2002 he moved to Chillicothe. He was a member of the Locust Valley Baptist Church in Browning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and farming.
Mr. Quigley is survived by two sons, David Quigley and his wife, Betty, of Chillicothe and Vick Quigley and his wife, Regina, of Liberty; one brother, Bill Quigley of Sun City, AZ; two sisters, Eva Martelli of Portage, IN and Wanda Schrock of Brookfield; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Quigley was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; one sister, Lucille; and two brothers, Gaylord and Eugene Quigley.
