Fourteen artists from north Missouri will have work displayed in the 2002 Green Hills Traveling Art Exhibit.
The pieces were chosen during the annual fall art critique, held Wednesday at the Dorris Rider Art Gallery on the North Central Missouri College campus. Area artists presented various mediums during the program, which featured Trenton artist and Trenton High School art instructor Lana Beverlin as the critic. She led group evaluations and study for over 30 pieces of submitted art.
Artists whose work was selected for the exhibit include Lorene McDonald, Linda Wick and Mrs. Beverlin, representing Grundy County; Kathy Hammond, Marian Moore and Ann Sibbit of Mercer County; Jim Jones of Livingston County; and Ann Fruits, Mari Beth Nelson and Wanda Taylor of Daviess County. Others who had art chosen for the exhibit include Wilda Hoover of Schuyler County and Kay Bonifazi, Mary Phippen and Colleen Ryals of Putnam County.
The display will remain in the Rider Art Gallery throughout October and November, when the exhibit will be moved to Livingston County. The exhibit will continue to be displayed in each of the nine counties of the area until the fall of 2003.
The Dorris Rider Art Gallery is located in the Frey Administrative Building on the NCMC campus and is open to the public, Monday through Friday.
