Memorial services for Doris Pickett, a 78-year-old resident of 115 W. 15th St. in Trenton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2002 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Rev. Daryl Mayfield will officiate. Resthaven Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial services for Doris Pickett, a 78-year-old resident of 115 W. 15th St. in Trenton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2002 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Rev. Daryl Mayfield will officiate. Resthaven Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Pickett died at her home on Monday, Sept. 30, 2002 from an apparent heart attack. The body was cremated.

Mrs. Pickett was born on Oct. 16, 1923 at Stanberry, the daughter of Willie Riley and Gladys Elizda Sandford Mann. She was married to Gilbert Dale Young in 1949 at Cameron and later married Russell Pickett in 1981 at Unionville. Mrs. Pickett was a member of the First Christian Church of Trenton, Eastern Star and the Trenton Elks Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Pickett is survived by two step-sons, Tom Pickett of Trenton and Bob Pickett of Boonville; two nieces, Bonnie Sue Johnson of South Carolina and Jackie Runyon of Florida; two nephews, Clarence David Hall and Willie Paul Hall, both of Kansas; and one brother-in-law, Clarence Hobbs of Trenton.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
