Donald Whitt, a 76-year-old lifelong resident of the Spickard community, died this morning (Monday, Sept. 30, 2002) at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Donald Whitt, a 76-year-old lifelong resident of the Spickard community, died this morning (Monday, Sept. 30, 2002) at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.
The body was cremated and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by the Resthaven Mortuary. The family will be staying at the home of Mrs. Whitt at 1303 E. 10th St., in Trenton.
Mr. Whitt was born on Nov. 9, 1925, west of Spickard, the son of Grover Sylvester and Macoe Murphy Whitt. He was raised in the Forks of the River community and graduated from Spickard High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was married at Leavenworth, KS on Aug. 17, 1946 to Retha Wooderson. They lived most of their married lives on a farm in the Spickard community.
Mr. Whitt was a member of the Hatton Chapel United Methodist Church and the American Legion Major Dale Stepp Post No. 31 of Trenton.
Mr. Whitt is survived by his wife, Retha, of the home at Trenton; two daughters, Donna Whitt of Trenton and Twyla Johnson of Spickard; two sons, K.D. Whitt of Spickard and Sylvester Whitt of Princeton; one sister, Lorie Booram of Trenton; one brother, John Whitt of Bethany; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Whitt was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
