Mary L. Brantley, a 96-year-old resident of Trenton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Mary L. Brantley, a 96-year-old resident of Trenton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 at the Princeton Christian Church. Rev. Gary Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Brantley Cemetery, southeast of Princeton.
General visitation is in progress at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002 at the Princeton Christian Church.
Mrs. Brantley was born on the family farm near Newtown on April 11, 1906, the daughter of George T. and Maude B. Dickson Pigg. She was united in marriage top William J. Brantley on Nov. 10, 1926. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1984. She was a 1926 graduate of Newtown High School. She was a farm wife, living in the Newtown and Princeton areas all of her life. Mrs. Brantley was a 50-year member of Eastern Star, where she was a former Worthy Matron of Moella Chapter 140 in Newtown. She later transferred to the Parson Chapter 189 of Trenton. She was a member of the Princeton Christian Church.
Mrs. Brantley is survived by one daughter, Wanda Goodin of Princeton; one son, Bill C. Brantley and his wife, Helen, of West Des Moines, IA; six grandchidren, Pearl Scurlock and her husband, George, of Princeton, Marian L. Goodin of Trenton, William (Bill) Goodin and his wife, Bronna, of Princeton, Rebecca Bennett and her husband, Brian, of West Des Moines, Linda Jensen and her husband, Darren, of Norwalk, IA, and James W. Brantley and his wife, Tammy, of Holland, MI; nine great-grandchildren, Eric C. Gentry and his wife, Loree, of Kansas City, Joel and Jonathan Peace of Trenton, John E. and Blake Goodin of Princeton, Jacob Weaver of Princeton, Dawn Bugin and her husband, Del, of Kirksville, and Lindsay and Shelby Bennett of West Des Moines; and three great-grandchildren, Josee Gentry, Curtis Bugin and Nicholas Bell, all of Kirksville.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brantley was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lois Brantley; one brother, Leo Pigg; and one son-in-law, John E. Goodin.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Princeton Christian Church.
