Personnel matters and maintenance projects were among the items considered by the Laredo and Princeton boards of education during meetings Monday night.
Laredo R-7
The Laredo R-7 Board approved personnel items and discussed activities to mark the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks when it met.
Superintendent Shawn Schultz said the board agreed to hire a half-day instructional aide to assist with the second grade and special education students. Candidates will be interviewed to fill this post.
Schultz announced that work on the school gym floor will begin on Sept. 20 while the gym roof work will begin Oct. 7. He said district employees will paint the walls at the end of the gym and parents will come in and paint the bleachers in the gym to get ready for the new floor. He announced that the new science textbooks have arrived and are now being used in the classroom.
Schultz outlined plans the school has to mark the 9/11 anniversary on Wednesday, including a ceremony at the flag pole and the creation of flags with student handprints on it. Flags will also be passed out to all students.
An executive session was held to discuss personnel, however, no announcement was made.
