Russell Tolson, an 84-year-old resident of rural Laredo, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo. Burial will be in the Richardson Cemetery in Laredo.
There will be a family visitation on from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002) at the Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo. General visitation is in progress until 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at the funeral home.
Mr. Tolson was born in Laredo on Oct. 26, 1917, the son of Ben Howard and Edna Bartholomew Tolson. On July 22, 1944 in Purdin he married Joy Carroll, who preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1998. Mr. Tolson spent all of his life in the Alpha Communinty and attended the Alpha Baptist Church. He attended Brush College Rural School. He was engaged in farming all his life.
Mr. Tolson is survived by three sons, Charles and his wife, Nancy Tolson of Meadville, Carroll Russell (Russ) Tolson of Kansas City and David Tolson of Laredo; four grandchildren, Russell (Rusty) Radcliff of Kansas City, KS, Randy Radcliff of Galt, Sarah Bell and her husband, Chris, of Lee’s Summit and Zachary Tolson of Meadville; one step-grandchild, Libby Kracher of Meadville; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tolson was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Tolson; one daughter, Alice Radcliff; and one brother, Ernest Tolson.
