Jonalee P. Bailey, a 78-year-old resident of Trenton, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Jonalee P. Bailey, a 78-year-old resident of Trenton, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
The body was cremated under the direction of the Slater Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. Services will be held in the Aldersgate room at the church.
Mrs. Bailey was born on June 8, 1924 in Jamesport, the daughter of John and Pearl Gannan Porterfield. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1942. She lived in Trenton then moved to Kansas City and back to Trenton in 1987. She was employed as an apartment manager for Irving C. Rubin Realtors of Kansas City before she retired. She was a member of the Trenton First Baptist Church. In June of 1944, she was married to Fred A. Watson at Darlington, SC. He preceded her in death in June 1945. Then on July 7, 1947, she was married to John E. Bailey at Trenton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1967.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Stewart and her husband, Ernest, of Trenton, Martha Bagby and her husband, Jay, of Gun Barrel City, TX and Barbara Bailey of Manhatten, KS; one son, William E. Bailey and his wife, Jan, of Hustonia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Matt Bailey; and one great-grandchild, Bailey Ralston.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. These may be left at the Slater Funeral Home.
