Cecil L. Misner, a 90-year-old resident of Gilman City, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at a Bethany hospital.

Cecil L. Misner, a 90-year-old resident of Gilman City, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at a Bethany hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Gilman City. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Gilman City with military rites by VFW Post #2176 and American Legion Post #216 of Bethany and VFW Post #5329 and American Legion Post #106 of Albany.

General visitation is in progress at the Roberson Funeral Home in Gilman City. There is no scheduled family visitation.

Mr. Misner was born in Gilman City on Nov. 16, 1911, the son of Lewis Samuel and Nora Grace Butcher Misner. On Nov. 23, 1932, he married Inez M. Reed. She survives of the home. He retired in 1981 as the owner and operator of Gilman City Lumber. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and American Legion. He was former mayor of Gilman City and had served many years on the board of the Home Exchange Bank. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Gilman City.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Misner is survived by one niece, Mary Etta Clevenger of Trenton; two nephews, Ronnie Misner of Smithville and Richard Misner of Kansas City.

Mr. Misner was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Marvin Keith Cook; one sister, Lena Mae Misner; and one brother, Charlie Misner.
