Students in the Grundy R-5 School District returned to classes Wednesday, more than one week after their original starting date.
On the first day, 205 students reported for classes, including 98 at the elementary school and 107 at the high school. This is down 16 students from a year ago. The largest class is the second grade with 23. The smallest class is third grade with 8 students.
Enrollment, by grades, includes kindergarten, 10; first grade, 12; second grade, 23; third grade, 8; fourth grade, 15; fifth grade, 15; sixth grade, 16; seventh grade, 11; eighth grade, 15; freshmen, 21; sophomores, 18; juniors, 11; and seniors, 20.
