The Grundy County Commission accepted a bid for appraisal services, approved contracts for administration of two grants and made an appointment during its regular meeting held Tuesday.

In addition to action already announced, the commission accepted the low bid from EST Enterprises of Chillicothe for the appraisal of five properties on the proposed site for the new city/county law enforcement center. The total cost will be $2,500 for appraisal of the properties which, if purchased by the county, would be demolished to make room for the proposed facility using funds received from a Community Development Block Grant. In a related matter, the commission signed a contract with the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission for administration of that grant, as well as the grant that will pay for installation of an elevator at the courthouse.

In other business, the commission appointed Corey Herron of Trenton to serve on the board of directors of the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library.
