Electric Outage In Trenton
Trenton Municipal customers in the north and east part of Trenton were without electric service for a short time on Saturday morning when lightning burned through lines feeding into the north substation.
TMU Supervisor Chad Davis said the lightning burned through two feeder lines where the lines connect at the structure, cutting off electric service for approximately 90 minutes. TMU crews were able to make repairs to the line and, according to Davis, no other problems have been experienced.
Davis noted that Saturday?s outage was not related to work that has been done recently to breakers at the substation. The new breakers were installed earlier this spring and Davis said TMU workers have been spending time working out glitches with that equipment. That work, however, had no connection with the problems experienced this weekend.
