Edna Leytham, a 94-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the nursing home, where she had resided since June 21, 2002. Mrs. Leytham was a lifelong resident of Grundy County.

Edna Leytham, a 94-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at the nursing home, where she had resided since June 21, 2002. Mrs. Leytham was a lifelong resident of Grundy County.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Resthaven Mortuary at Trenton.
Mrs. Leytham was born on June 15, 1908 near Laredo, the daughter of John and Bertha Edith Knapp Burress. She was raised in the Laredo community and attended the Herbert School. On June 16, 1928 she was married to Harold Albert Leytham at Trenton. They had farmed on farms in the Galt and Spickard communities from 1928 until 1951, when they moved into Trenton. Mr. Leytham preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1969.
Mrs. Leytham is survived by two daughters, Virginia Rader of Trenton and Joyce Christen of Merna, NE; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Leytham was preceded in death by one son, Harold Leytham Jr.; sisters, Ruby Stroup and a twin sister, Edith Lawrence; and three brothers, Russell, Howard and Homer Burress.
