The Mercer County Fair continued Thursday at Princeton with a swine show and talent show.
The grand champion gilt was shown by Ty Webster of Princeton while Katie McCloud had the reserve champion. Webster also showed the champion market hog while Amy McCormack of Unionville had the reserve champion.
The champion Duroc gilt was shown by Webster, while Miss McCloud had the reserve champion. Jarin Gamet of Princeton showed both the grand champion and reserve champion spotted gilt. The grand champion and reserve champion York gilt belonged to Miss McCloud. Webster had the champion Crossbred gilt while the reserve Crossbred gilt was entered by Philip Doty of Cainsville.
Showmanship honors went to Natalie Valentine of Lucerne, 14-and-over, and Logan Epperson of Trenton, 13-and-under.
County performance winners were Ty Webster, first and second; Wes Lowrey, third and fifth; and Brock Donelson, fourth. All three are from Princeton.
In the talent show, winners included:

Ashley Nelson of Bethany, (no third place); 14-and-over – Neal Sisters from the Northwest Missouri Academy of Dance at Bethany, 2. Soggy Bottom Boys of Princeton, (no third place).
Singing/Music, 0 to 10 – 1. Ashton Vandivert of Bethany, 2. Felisha Bertrand of Princeton, 3. Jessica Williams of Bethany; 11 to 15 – 1. Riker Brothers of Milan, 2. Christian Church Teen Choir of Princeton, (no third place); 16 to 20 – 1. Jonnie Duff of Cainsville, 2. ?Fuse? of Milan, (no third place); 21-and-up – 1. Lisa Peacher of Trenton, 2. Candy Haffey of Albany, 3. ?Calvary?s Grace? of Chillicothe.
Tonight?s activities include the Princeton FFA Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., a free gospel show from 6 to 8 p.m. and the mud run at 7 p.m. Saturday?s events include the beef show at 10 a.m., the FFA barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the pet show at 4 p.m., the antique/classic/farm tractor pull at 5 p.m., an ice cream social from 6 to 7 p.m., the buyers social at 5 p.m. and the youth livestock auction at 7 p.m. The fair concludes at 1 p.m. on Sunday with an ATV rodeo.
