Ronald Ray Owens, a 56-year-old life-long resident of Laredo, passed away at his home in Laredo on Wednesday, July 17, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at the Laredo Christian Church in Laredo. Burial will be in the Richardson Cemetery in Laredo.
There will be a family visitation on Friday, July 19, 2002 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home in Laredo and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the First Christian Church in Laredo.
Mr. Owens was born on April 20, 1946, the son of Wilbur Newton and Orpha Alwilda Simmons Owens in Trenton. On Jan. 18, 1964 in Lancaster, he married Jackie Gardner. She survives of the home. Mr. Owens graduated from Laredo High School in 1964. He was a member of the Laredo Christian Church. He was a self-employed fencing contractor for 17 years.
Mr. Owens is survived by one son, Punky Owens and his wife, Lori, of Laredo; one daughter, Cissy Loyd of Laredo; one brother, Jim Owens of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Jenna, Ronna and McKenna Owens of Laredo; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gerald Owens.
