Judging activities at the Mercer County Fair in Princeton got under way on Wednesday.

Judging activities at the Mercer County Fair in Princeton got under way on Wednesday.

In the rabbit show, Colten Nelson had the top two entries in the open junior show. An entry by Bryan Hagan placed third.

In the open senior show, Shambree Hagan had the champion buck while Kathleen Young showed the reserve champion. The champion doe belonged to Christopher Priest while the reserve champion was entered by William Young.

In the 4-H/FFA division, Santana Hagan had the champion and reserve champion buck as well as the champion and reserve champion doe. She also had the champion and reserve champion cavies. Miss Hagan?s entry also won best of show and reserve best of show and she received the showmanship award.

All winners in the rabbit show were from Princeton.

In the poultry show, Karly Gray of Hamilton had the champion male turkey while the reserve champion was entered by Dakota Gray of Hamilton. The champion female turkey belonged to Tabitha DeWalt of Hamilton.

The champion and reserve champion male ducks were entered by Kyle Adkinson of Hamilton. Tabitha DeWalt had the grand champion goose.

In the open chicken show, Rachelle Parks of Princeton had the first-place entry. The champion rooster was entered by Cameron Wilson of Princeton and Jarrett Crouse of Cainsville had the reserve champion rooster. Scott Gunderson of Kidder received the champion hen award while the reserve champion hen belonged to Tabitha DeWalt. Cameron Wilson had the grand champion poultry entry while an entry from Jarrett Crouse received reserve champion honors.

Scott Gunderson had the first-place pen of three while Kyle Adkinson?s entry placed second. Gunderson was also named winner of the poultry showmanship award.

Winners in the baby weightlifting contest were:

One year, Timothy Metcalf of Newtown and Sydney Webber of Princeton.

Two Years, Cy Uthe of Winston and Liberty Cox of Chillicothe.

Three Years, Jaren Richman of Princeton and Hailey Johnson of Princeton.

Four Years, Tanner Whistler of Princeton and Audra Berquist of Princeton.

Five Years, (tie) Cody Clapham and Jason McLain, both of Princeton, and Lauren Stout of Princeton.

Winners in the pedal tractor pull were Lukus Hertzog, 9-12 years; Braden Donelson, 6 to 8 years; and Jason McLain, 3 to 5 years.

In the open class exhibits, Cristal Dunkin of Spickard was named the winner in crafts while Merrissa Mennerlyn of Princeton was the winner in household arts. Jeannine Clark of Mercer took first in household science, Tammie Brundage of Princeton was the winner in farm produce and Mia Nally of Princeton took top honors in floriculture.

Sara Stockwell was named the fair queen and Sarah Cast is the fair princess.

Activities today at the fair included a swine show this morning while the talent show is scheduled for 7 o?clock tonight. A bull ride is planned for 8 o?clock.

Friday?s schedule includes the sheep show at 10 a.m., the Princeton FFA dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. and a free gospel show from 6 to 8 p.m.. There is also a mud run at 7 p.m.
