J.W. “Buck” Jobe, a 73-year-old resident of Kansas City, KS passed away Saturday morning, July 13, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be in the Galt West Cemetery at Galt.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Jobe was born on March 21, 1929 at Trenton, the son of Fred and Velma Dunlap Jobe. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. Mr. Jobe was employed as an auto mechanic instructor for AVTS in Kansas City, KS for 21 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to that he had been a millwright mechanic at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and had worked for General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant.
He was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple and had been faithful to the calling as a bus driver for various churches. He was also an avid race car driver throughout the Midwest and was still driving go-karts at age 64.
Mr. Jobe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret L. Jobe of the home; four sons, Kenneth D. Jobe Sr. of Parkville; Thomas “Dan” and Michael E. Jobe both of Kansas City, KS and Lawrence “Fred” Jobe of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
