Osgood native, Helen Humphreys Leek, an 81-year-old resident of Liberty, passed away Thursday morning, June 27, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Osgood native, Helen Humphreys Leek, an 81-year-old resident of Liberty, passed away Thursday morning, June 27, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery, located at Humphreys.

There will be a scheduled family visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at the funeral home. General visitation will begin after 8 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Leek was born on Feb. 14, 1921 at Osgood, the daughter of Thomas and Goldie Meeker Humphreys. She moved to Kansas City with her parents and graduated from Central High School in 1938. She then attended the Chillicothe Business College. She resided in Chillicothe for 12 years. After her marriage to Logan Leek on Oct. 23, 1960 at Galt, they moved to Springfield, where they lived until moving to Liberty in 1968. Mrs. Leek was a member of the DAR and was a avid genealogist and quiltmaker.

Mrs. Leek is survived by her husband, Logan Leek, of the home in Liberty; two sons, Gary Glidewell of Liberty and Jerry Glidewell of Gladstone; one step-daughter, Linda Steed of Yucaipa, CA; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leek was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Joy Sue.
